Survivors’ experiences of online-facilitated child sexual abuse

Susanna and William at University of Bristol are seeking adults who experienced sexual abuse before the age of 18 either online or with a technological element (see below for further details).

If this describes you, would you be willing to be interviewed as part of a research study?

Participants will receive a £50 voucher towards their participation.

If you would be interested in taking part or would like to know more, please email:

ofcsa-study2024@bristol.ac.uk

We will send you the recruitment pack.

If you like, we can have a no obligation chat before the interview to talk through the consent forms and orientate you to the study.

Thank you.

ARE YOU A SURVIVOR OF ONLINE FACILITATED CHILD SEXUAL ABUSE?

We'd love to hear from you if...

• You experienced any form of sexual abuse that had an online element
• You had images taken or took images that were later uploaded online
• You met someone online who sexually abused in person
• You were sexually abused involving phone apps, messaging, or media services

WHAT'S INVOLVED?

We are seeking adults (18+) who experienced sexual abuse with an online element before the age of 18 (see above for some examples) and who have previously disclosed the sexual abuse.
If this describes you, would you be willing to be interviewed as part of a research study?
Your identity and data will be anonymised, your name and details will never be revealed, and any experiences shared will be held safely and securely. We welcome people of all ethnicities, genders, and ages.
We are seeking 30 people to interview. The interviews will last approximately one hour, and we can send you the suggested topic guide beforehand. You will always control what we talk about, and can choose any topic you would like to cover or not discuss.
We will gather your words together with other survivors' experiences to inform mental health services, policy, and research. This project aims to make things better for all survivors and contribute to preventing online
harms.
