Self Care

We met today to think together about self care. The discussion centred on:
1. what are my unique signs (triggered states) that say it’s time for self care?

2. why don’t I do as much self care as I know I need? What are my unique barriers?

3. considering my triggers and barriers and using the metaphor of a wound – does my wound need a plaster, some more specific care (TCP, vitamins), or the help and support from someone else, maybe a professional or person with experience?

4. We has a brief discussion for a short/long list of        

a) “plasters” i.e. immediate steps for support 

b) changes to attitude or self rationality, or deeper longer term actions to cleanse the wound 

c) What sort of person would I find helpful (inc. peer support, therapy, friendships, medical help etc).
